It seems like New York is about as close to a perfect iPhone town as you’re going to find. A high-energy, densely-populated, super-connected, polyglot city for a phone that shares those qualities.
Of course NYC has never been as tech-savvy as San Francisco and Silicon Valley. The Californians will always have the edge on newer technology, earlier adoption, and the general pushing at the computational border.
But that's only half the point with the iPhone. Sure, it's the most advanced mobile computer ever built, but it's also a revolutionary communication device. And for that NYC is the center of the English-speaking world.
Some people even made a commercial on spec to make exactly that point:

Or maybe it’s more hommage than commercial. In any case it’s a great piece of work. I’d hire those guys in a second if I were making iPhone commercials.
And below is an embedded Flickr slide show of photos tagged NYC and taken with an iPhone. It's dynamically generated so who knows how it will look today, but it often reinforces, in its algorithmic way, the natural pairing of New York City and the iPhone.

Honestly though I'm not sure what to do with this domain. I don’t even live in New York City. I would definitely consider selling it. Or if you have some super-duper idea what to do with it and you want to cut me in, I’d probably consider that too. Follow the link at the bottom and you’ll find a contact form if you want to pitch me.
